Ingredients: 

  • About 12 medium to large strawberries (organic is preferable)
  • 3-4 spoonfuls of all-natural peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup of cold water

Ingredients
1 cup pureed Strawberries
1 tablespoon Cinnamon
2 tablespoons Lemon Juice
1 tablespoon dried Mint
1 to 2 cups Water
2 – 3 Chicken Breasts

It’s that time of year…
when the temperature is rising, and you AND your dog just wanna stay cool! Today we are featuring an easy dog treat recipe from Lindsay of the Lean Green Bean!

Many dogs love icy treats, and this one combines the great flavor of nutritious sweet potato and peanut butter.

Cool off and let your freezer do the work!

 

Peanut Butter Sweet Potato Recipe Best Bully Sticks Dog Blog

Ingredients

  • 1/2  cup roasted sweet potato
  • 3/4 cup peanut butter

Directions

1. Peel skin from sweet potato.

2. Mash sweet potato in a bowl.

3. Add peanut butter and mix well.

4. Scoop into an ice cube tray.

5. Freeze!

6. Transfer to an airtight container when frozen and give your pup 1-2 frozen treats a day as an everyday treat or a cooling one  on especially H-O-T days.  summer Sun Best Bully sticks

Doggie Granola Bars

This week we are featuring a fun recipe from My Dog’s Breakfast: Doggie Granola Bars. These wholesome treats feature whole grains and chicken broth that your dog will love.

Let’s get started!

Ingredients

DOGGIE GRANOLA BARS:

2 cups of flour (rye or whole wheat)
1 cup of rolled oats (not instant)
1 cup of wheat germ
½ cup of cooked quinoa or other seeds such as pumpkin
2 TBP of dry milk powder (*optional)
¼ tsp salt (*optional)
1 egg
1 cup of no salt or low sodium chicken broth
½ cup of water
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.

2 mixing bowls
Rolling pin
Baking tray
Parchment paper (optional)

Today we are featuring a mouthwatering recipe from Amy aka The Blond Cook!

Her recipe for Banana Pupcakes won us over because dogs deserve their cake, too! This soft texture of this pupcake is great for older dogs, puppies, those with dental sensitivities and all in between! The banana and honey are naturally sweet to give your pup a tasty treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 bananas, mashed (about 1 cup)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons honey

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Line muffin tins with muffin liners, or spray with cooking spray.
  3. In large bowl, mash bananas with a fork. Add remaining ingredients and stir well with a large spoon until blended.
  4. Fill muffin tins about 1/2 full with batter.
  5. Bake for approximately 15 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in the middle is removed clean.

Weekly Drool Recipe: Wheat-Free Tuna Treats via 3m Bakery

Today we are featuring a dog treat recipe courtesy of Jude and the 3m’s (Mac, Maesie and Matilda)! These Wheat-free Tuna Treats are one of their favorite treats. The ingredients are simple, and we love that Jude includes the nutritional benefits of the ingredients. Let’s get baking!

Wheat Free Tuna Dog Treats

WHEAT FREE TUNA TREATS

  • 1½ cups Oat flour
  • 1 cup yellow Polenta (If you prefer corn-free, increase Oat flour by 1 extra cup)
  • 1 small can tuna in oil, undrained
  • ¼ tsp. baking powder – gluten free, aluminum free
  • 1 small garlic clove – pressed (optional)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp. oil
  • ⅓ cup water

Instructions

Preheat oven to 180° C (350° F) and line a cookie tray with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk tuna in oil with the water, egg, pressed garlic and oil.
Add the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly until well combined and form into a ball.
Turn out dough on to a floured surface and knead lightly.
Roll dough out to about ¼ inch thickness.
Using a cookie cutter or a sharp knife, cut into shapes and place on cookie tray OR .
Repeat process of knead, roll, cut and place until all the dough is used.
Bake for 25 minutes, depending on your oven.
Remove from oven, flip the cookies over and allow them to rest on the cookie tray for about 5 – 10 minutes.
Remove cookies from tray and place on wire cooling rack to cool completely.
Yield: about 24 medium sized crumbly textured cookies.
