Weekly Drool Recipe: Banana Pupcakes via The Blond Cook

Today we are featuring a mouthwatering recipe from Amy aka The Blond Cook!

Her recipe for Banana Pupcakes won us over because dogs deserve their cake, too! This soft texture of this pupcake is great for older dogs, puppies, those with dental sensitivities and all in between! The banana and honey are naturally sweet to give your pup a tasty treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 bananas, mashed (about 1 cup)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons honey

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Line muffin tins with muffin liners, or spray with cooking spray.
  3. In large bowl, mash bananas with a fork. Add remaining ingredients and stir well with a large spoon until blended.
  4. Fill muffin tins about 1/2 full with batter.
  5. Bake for approximately 15 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in the middle is removed clean.

Weekly Drool Recipe: Wheat-Free Tuna Treats via 3m Bakery

Today we are featuring a dog treat recipe courtesy of Jude and the 3m’s (Mac, Maesie and Matilda)! These Wheat-free Tuna Treats are one of their favorite treats. The ingredients are simple, and we love that Jude includes the nutritional benefits of the ingredients. Let’s get baking!

Wheat Free Tuna Dog Treats

WHEAT FREE TUNA TREATS

  • 1½ cups Oat flour
  • 1 cup yellow Polenta (If you prefer corn-free, increase Oat flour by 1 extra cup)
  • 1 small can tuna in oil, undrained
  • ¼ tsp. baking powder – gluten free, aluminum free
  • 1 small garlic clove – pressed (optional)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp. oil
  • ⅓ cup water

Instructions

Preheat oven to 180° C (350° F) and line a cookie tray with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk tuna in oil with the water, egg, pressed garlic and oil.
Add the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly until well combined and form into a ball.
Turn out dough on to a floured surface and knead lightly.
Roll dough out to about ¼ inch thickness.
Using a cookie cutter or a sharp knife, cut into shapes and place on cookie tray OR .
Repeat process of knead, roll, cut and place until all the dough is used.
Bake for 25 minutes, depending on your oven.
Remove from oven, flip the cookies over and allow them to rest on the cookie tray for about 5 – 10 minutes.
Remove cookies from tray and place on wire cooling rack to cool completely.
Yield: about 24 medium sized crumbly textured cookies.
